Overview

Lugano, where culture meets luxury.

Lugano huddles around the eponymous lake, surrounded by Swiss mountains. With a dash of Italian flair, Lugano has become known as the Swiss Monte Carlo. International jet-setters spend the warm summers dining on fresh Swiss-Italian cuisine and enjoying the city’s chic ambience.

About Switzerland

Let yourself be tempted by a stroll in the charming historic centre. Through the delightful squares and archways, you will appreciate to see the large number of edifices in Lombard style.

The "Museo Cantonale d’Arte" of Lugano invites you to admire, among others, fascinating artworks from Klee, Jawlensky, Renoir and Degas. The nature lovers should stroll and relax in one of the numerous parks such as the Parco Civico along the lake with its amazing subtropical plants. The "Belvedere" garden is ornamented with camellias, magnolias and splendid modern artworks.

Beyond the old town, you will discover the beautiful San Lorenzo cathedral which is decorated with a magnificent façade in Renaissance-Lombard style.

    travel in europe |
"During our recent trip to england and europe we travelled extensively by train. We found the trains to be fast, reliable, safe and clean. Also very comfortable. The staff on the trains and at the stations were always very helpfull. which made our train travel all the more enjoyable. I would not hesitate to travel by train through europe again. I would recommend this form of travel to anyone visiting europe Richard and karen newcastle Australia. "

    Zurich to Como |
"The trip was very good, but booking the ticket was a real pain in the butt. I kept getting told that I could book a ticket three months in advance. I was finally able to book a ticket four weeks in advance and not in the section I wanted even though there was actually lots of seats available on the actual trip. "

"We jumped on this train for the short trip to Milano. It was early evening, and it soon became clear that the carriage did not have any working power for lights etc. Overall the carriage cleanliness was poor and aged. The experience was further soured by the train employee who decided to smoke throughout the journey at the end of the carriage, even though it was non-smoking. We got there, which was the aim, but it should be better than this. "
