For fantastic adventures around Spain the Renfe train network will take you all over the country, from Madrid to Barcelona, to Malaga, Seville or Valencia, as well as hundreds of other Spanish destinations.

The Spanish Renfe is served by the high speed AVE trains, and these trains will take you all over the country.

With the AVE you can travel from Madrid to Barcelona in just 2h 40 minutes. Visit the beach, try some tapas, enjoy Gaudi’s mark on the city or take a stroll in one of the many beautiful parks.

From Barcelona it is five hours 25 minutes to Seville and the journey takes in some of the country’s most beautiful scenery, or if you want to head to the coast, Malaga is also around five hour 35 minutes from Barcelona on the AVE.

So after a quick read about Pablo Picasso on the train you could be exploring his birthplace or sipping cocktails on the beach.

From Madrid passengers on the AVE can reach the cultural hotspot of Seville is just 2h 20 minutes. Seville is home to a stunning cathedral and its famous Alcazar and is a wonderful city to stroll through taking in the rich cultural sights.

Another great destination on the AVE from Madrid is the capital of Castile y Leon Valladolid. You could be enjoying the incredible historic architecture and churches of the old quarter just one hour from the capital.

A little further, 1h 35 minutes from Madrid on the AVE is Valencia. This is a fascinating destination which has Roman and Arabic influences, a great place to explore.

There are many more destinations in Spain you can explore when travelling on the AVE network.

The AVE services also stop at beautiful secret pockets of Spain such as Huesca, a city in the north east, just over two hours from Madrid. Huesca has the incredible San Pedro el Viejo monastery, one of the oldest Romanesque buildings in Spain.

Or explore Andalucía and head to Cordoba from Malaga. In less than an hour you could be discovering the ancient city under the warmth of the Spanish sun.
