Travel inspiration in Amsterdam and Copenhagen
Amsterdam, the capital city of the Netherlands, is located in the province of North Holland. The city got its name from a dam in the river Amstel and was a small fishing village at its creation. Nowadays Amsterdam is a busy seaport and one of the top European financial centres as well as a major cultural hub. The canals, world-famous museums and historical sights makes Amsterdam one of the most romantic and beautiful cities in Europe. Amsterdam can be reached easily by train from other European capitals - Paris, London or Brussels.
Copenhagen, experience the danish way of life
Tivoli Gardens is the hub of Copenhagen’s cultural scene with live jazz and ornate mansions, but its fairground rides, including the terrifying Star Flyer, bring it firmly into the present. Drink in the sea air, tuck into fresh herring and browse the creations of classy modernist designers.
Reviews & ratings Amsterdam - Copenhagen
This train was cancelled at very last minute due to track problems in Germany (apparently). It was very disconcerting to have this happens with no notice...but these things happen. However the Amsterdam officials handled it quite well and we were given good overnight accommodation, and then I travelled the next day via 3 separate connections which all worked fine. So I was quite pleased how the situation was handled in the end.
not impressed with the first class service and facility, no doubt did well in the 1970s but really could modernise now. The stewards were unhelpful and signage from the platform non-existant, luckily I did find my carriage but other passengers were asking me - each carriage was going to a different city like Berlin, Warsaw and Copenhagen - and couldn't help them. Travel tip for first class? Take a flask of coffee and expect to lose some weight! Delayed and missed my connection
Was a fantastic experience and can't wait to do it again. Great new friends in our coach.
