One of the most popular journeys in the world, especially for those seeking adventure, fun and authenticity. The first class offers a premium service and ultimate comfort. But the second is not far behind. In fact the second class on board the Thalys is like flying in first class.

Discover Amsterdam and visit other cities by train
The coffee shops of Amsterdam are widely popular. The reason is simple, it one of the few cities in the world to allow pot smoking. Hence many visitors drop in one of the famous coffee shops in Amsterdam to experience how it feels to smoke and have a drink. This may sound shocking, but some studies show that this has wiped out drugs trafficking. In Amsterdam, coffee shops are not allowed to sell to anyone under 18 and hard drugs are strictly prohibited.
Other trains from Paris will allow you to reach France’s most popular cities and to discover its beautiful regions.
Reviews & ratings Amsterdam - Paris
I have used rail around Europe several times. This time I took the train from Paris to Amsterdam because I wanted some relaxing time watching the country side pass by. Much quicker than flying. Took 3 hours. Very comfortable. Train personnel were wonderful. Helpful
The trip in the first class carriage was very good, the seats were comfortable and the service by your staff was friendly and helpful. Getting to the correct platform and getting off the train at Paris was quite easy and when we are next in Europe we will consider travelling with Thalys again.
We are repeat users of the Masterdam-Paris Thalys train. The service remains the very best way to travel between the two cities. The journey takes just over three hours and connects Amsterdam Centraal to Gare du Nord, Paris. It bypasses the need to travel to and from airports and to cope with the delays and hassles of air travel, including delays with baggage check-in and retrieval. Our first class tickets, advance purchased through the Web from Australia, compared more than favourably in price with the cost of air travel. The Thalys first class carriages are quiet, very comfortable and include complementary snacks and drinks, served twice between Amsterdam and Paris. As tourists, we have consistently found Thalys to be a relaxing, conveneinet way to travel whilst allowing us to see the countryside. We recommend the service highly.
Relaxing and convenient way to travel
We travelled with Thalys to Paris from Amsterdam and were delighted with our experience. Thalys were the best company that we travelled with and I would recommend them for their high speed trains across Europe.
Excellent trip Amsterdam station hard to find where you carriage number stops and carriage does not have a number on outside of carriage.
Very comfortable, super smooth journey, Great big seats, plenty of room for a family of 5 !
Love the trip Fully satisfied,.Everything was great ,service,food,staff...I fully recommend...
Our train travel would have been wonderful with very comfortable seating, air conditioning and very pleasant staff. However we paid for meals and drinks which were not supplied due to the train arriving in Amsterdam late. There was no time to restock the meals and no substitution offered. We also had no wifi as promised for our trip. Would not travel again as we live on the other side of the world.
This is the 1st time we have taken a train between cities in Europe. If we travel again we will use trains as our transportation between cities within reasonable distance between each. We found the service very good from the staff on board but did feel that as we were both elderly in our late 70's, that the person at the entry to the carriage could have help me with loading the suitcase onto the carriage. Also the announcements at Paris that the train was parked further along the platform and was not the 1st train could have been better conveyed!! The food on board was a lot better than airline food. At Amsterdam gain it was a long trek along the platform; did feel that the driver could have stopped further along the platform under cover so passengers did not have to walk in the drizzle.
Loved the train - fast - comfy seats - clean!!
We had a comfortable journey and the only thing my daughter complained of was the internet that she could not connect to. Would use Thalys again.
The booking process was easy and the journey was really terrific on a very comfortable and modern train.
Travelling by myself from Australia, and not speaking anything other than English, I couldn't have been happier with my experience on the fast train from Amsterdam to Paris. I chose the first class option, and believe it was a very good choice. The presentation of the carriage, the professionalism of all the stewards, the quality of food, the range of wines and the attention to requirements by the carriage host could not be faulted. I loved the experience. Thank you so much :-)
The train clean, fast and on time.
