Amsterdam, the capital city of the Netherlands, is located in the province of North Holland. The city got its name from a dam in the river Amstel and was a small fishing village at its creation. Nowadays Amsterdam is a busy seaport and one of the top European financial centres as well as a major cultural hub. The canals, world-famous museums and historical sights makes Amsterdam one of the most romantic and beautiful cities in Europe. Amsterdam can be reached easily by train from other European capitals - Paris, London or Brussels.
Zurich is an elegant metropolis situated on the lake bearing its name. Its central location in Switzerland and its perfect public transportation connections make Zurich the ideal holiday hub. Most of Switzerland can be easily reached for a day excursion using your train pass without having to pack and unpack every day. Zurich’s Bahnhofstrasse is Europe’s most exclusive shopping street, the paradise for lovers of luxury and lifestyle goods.
Reviews & ratings Amsterdam - Zurich
There was less luggage space on the Thalys compared to the Eurostar, also the wifi did not work for me although it did connect.
We found the carriage we were in quite grubby but the seating comfortable. Again the area for storing suitcases limited.
