Reviews & ratings Basel - Paris
I love travelling by train in europe - so easy and reliable. The trains are clean, efficient, and come on time.
Loved the journey, once we boarded the train. Interesting and relaxing . Food served 'plane' style was a pleasant surprise.
After nearly missing this train due to inept Paris taxi service, this was a welcome relief. The tickets that we had printed out from home, did not have a clear carriage number, which meant that we were in the wrong carriage and had to drag our 4 suitcase through 2 carriages to get to the right one. Once in there, it was a very comfortable and enjoyable trip and quite fast.
We travelled by train throughout our recent holidays in Europe and can say that it is a rather relaxing way to travel. Not waiting at airports, more leg room than in a plane, etc. Some trains were more comfortable then others. Our journey on the Lyria from Paris to Basel was one of the more notable ones and was the one where the meal served was better than the other trains we took.
Train from Lucerne did not arrive so we had to get to basil on alternative route. Station staff were unaware of viable alternatives. Lucky we found a very nice Swiss gentleman who helped us to suburban route unfortunately we had to stand
Travelled second class, but comfortable and plenty of leg room for my large frame. Space on luggage racks was tight once carriage full. Thumbs up
A very comfortable trip on a fast train. A great way to get from Basel to Paris in a relaxed manner
WE TRAVELLED BY TGV LYRIA FROM PARIS TO BASEL ON OUR WAY TO LUCERNE. IT IS THE MOST CONVENIENT WAY TO GO. NO HASSEL OF TRANSFER TO AND FROM AIR PORTS AD CLEARING CUSTOMS OR IMMIGRATION. THE GARE LYON STATION IN PARIS IS ABOUT 4 KM FROM CENTRAL ARIS AND TAXIS COST 15 TO 25 EUROS. THE TRAIN WAS VERY COMFORTABLE. WE WERE SERVED BREAKFAST IN FIRST CLASS. A SEAT IN THE UPPER LEVEL IS PREFERABLE. THERE IS PLENTY OF SPACE TO STORE LUGGAGE IN THE COACH.
The train trip from Paris Gare Lyon to Mulhouse Ville was excellent, and I would definitely do it again. The scenery was lovely and the trip relaxing. I was happy to have been allocated a window seat in the upstairs area.
