Reviews & ratings Bologna - Munich
I was very surprised at the quality of this train after the first leg from Munich. There is almost no comparison as the Italian train was heaps better and far superior. Unable to increase the ratings for this leg, application malfunction.
I was extremely disappointed with so called first class on this leg. Second class at best. Crowded and.little room for all occupants of the compartment for 6 people squeezed in with luggage.Uncomfortable andnot relaxing The ticketing system is archaic and well behind the times. The service is not user friendly and quite difficult and frustrating
We booked a train trip for the view through the Brenner Pass and that was amazing. However, there was no help with luggage, even though we booked first class, the first class compartment had eight seats, yet the business had six..go figure? There was only 15 minutes between connecting trains at Bologna, and our first train was 10 minutes late, 5 minutes to run through a station down three escalators, with heavy luggage ain't much fun, and no help to get on the train, and we had to put the luggage on a rack above head height. Next time we will fly!
We booked a train trip for the view through the Brenner Pass and that was amazing. Finding the Hertz office to return our car was not easy. The station had no signage to indicate what platform we should go to, and the staff were not overly helpful. There was no help with the luggage, we actually had someone offer help, but he then wanted 20 euros, another lesson learnt! We booked first class....but the compartment had eight seats, compared to six in business.....go figure? Good for the view but a plane next time....we should have flown back as the return journey was not really good at all.
The booking was easy, however the fact that if you misplace your tickets they can not be replaced, is archaic. You are warned about no replacement, but this service if not good - this needs to be improved. The train trip in itself was good, however also be warned that if you are traveling with a large suitcase, there is no where for it to be stored, this would have been difficult had the train been full of passengers.

The night train was good, facilities good, not a lot of room for your luggage storage - travel light, we didn't
