Reviews & ratings Calais - Paris
Great way to travel through Europe. Trains run on timevand are nice and clean.
Great trip in all respects. Appreciated that the trains ran to time schedules and bookings and confirmations through Rail Europe were so effecient
I was told don't drive in Paris. We caught the train from Charles De Gaulle airport to Lille before collecting a car. Fantastic idea. Great train trip. NON STOP and fast. We had plenty of room to place our luggage and a very comfortable seat even after 27hrs in a plane to get there. The train was clean and quiet. I would recommend this to anyone. I was very impressed.
we needed to catch a ferry from Calais to Dover so make sure you get off at Calais Ville not Frethune otherwise you will miss your ferry! Lucky some helpful French people were able to assist us and we go to the port on time.
our journey was excellent. thank you.
Very happy with our first trip to Europe. Easy to organise using internet and train was on time. Way to go
When taking the train from Paris to Calais that there are two stations as we booked the Calais train, not knowning that there are two Calais station being Calais Frethun and the station were you catch the ferry to Dover as they are 8 kms apart. A French guy told us that to stay on the train to got to the final station, I am glad that I did otherwise we may have had to walk or a taxi.
We traveled to Calais on a very hot day and the air conditioning was not working very well we also had no intenet connection for the entire trip.
We traveled from Dover to Calais. If you do this be prepared for a decent walk into Calais with your luggage and then a 20 euro taxi trip to the TGV station as it is not in the town. There is no signage at the ferry terminal to assist you and nowhere to get Euros if you need them. Having said that the train trip was good. Getting there was hard work.
We were disappointed with the times of the trains, as it meant we could not leave until the afternoon. The journey itself was good and was comfortable. We found the areas to store suitcases were very limited and due to travelling for 7 weeks we were using big suitcases.
Train journey comfortable once we got on board. Inconvenient transferring from Calaisville. Difficult finding information , rail police very helpful though. Efficient on time arrival to Paris.
