Reviews & ratings Colmar - Paris
I recently travelled from Colmar to Paris on the TGV. It was an excellent journey. Train left on time from Colmar with times and carriage placings clearly indicated by excellent signage on platform at Colmar. Only comment I would make would be with regard to buffet car which is quite small and not equipped to handle a queue of people waiting for food, although young attendant did an excellent job.. On other train journeys I have experienced, a food trolley has come through the carriages which has been very convenient.
TGVs are nice when you don't get aisle seats. Aisle seats are uncomfortable as there is nothing to look at and you will inevitably fall asleep (most likely on the person next to you) if you don't have something to keep you occupied! They are also expensive and do not offer any complimentary wifi.
Bad news, our plane was late, missed train, good news SNCF staff very helpful, gave us seats on another train via Le Mans.
I travelled on a comfortable TGV train from Paris to Strasbourg, through the picturesque French countryside to see the Christmas Markets. It was a long held dream of mine to see the famous Christmas Markets of Strasbourg and Colmar and they were better than I dreamed they would be. They were magical, especially at night, plus a cup of Vin Chaud was a must, as it really warmed me on a cold winters night.
We travelled first class and unfortunately had been allocated seats in non-quiet coach. The children arrived immediately with the usual noise. So we moved into a nearby quiet coach with the permission of the conductor and therefore enjoyed our journey!
The train was comfortable and clean. It was a convenient way to travel.
Duplex carriage had no room for luggage downstairs
Travelling on the TGV is amazing. The trains are clean, comfortable and, in our experience, very punctual. We think it is a very convenient, hassle-free way to travel. The cost is very low and great value for money. You can sit back and watch the beautiful countryside roll by whilst you are having a snack and a drink.
