Reviews & ratings Florence - Venice
Loved the Italy rail system. Book at least 90 days in advance and go first class. Seats comfortable and service very good. It's the only way tor travel in Italy
Very good service ,arrived on time ,had a restaurant on the train. The only negative was not enough storage for larger suitcases.
I travelled from Florence to Venice by train and it was an excellent trip. Compared with a plane trip, it is a lot more convenient. You only need to get to the station shortly before departure, you can carry as many bags as you want, there is a lot of space for your legs and no risk of vascular issues with altitude. Normally train stations are closer to the turist areas than airports.Travelling by train in Italy is a win-win situation. We would recommend it to anyone. I wish we had trains like this in Australia. We have very pleasant experience with our recent train trips in Italy; we have traveled between Venice - Florence, Florence-Bolongna, Bolongna-Rome on the high speed trains. The cabin has been very modern, clean with comfortable and large seats, and the foods from the on-board kitchen were reasonable priced. The staff including conductors were friendly, although some of them only speak limited English (but hey, this is in Italy). The train system in Italy is more friendly for passengers than in France, you are allowed to get on the train without showing tickets, which are randomly inspected by the onboard conductors. Fast, comfortable, reliable, and in-expensive way of travel in Italy!
Very comfortable, spacious first class seats, although luggage storage is very limited; toilets for each carriage. Train departed exactly on time. Complimentary drinks served with packets of nibbles
I would recommend this mode of travel to anybody. We travelled first class which was cheaper than the corresponding airfare. the train was on time, very comfortable and relaxing and brouht us into the centre of Florence. Great way to travel, quicker, cheaper and infinetly more relaxing.
