Travel inspiration in Innsbruck and Venice
A picture-perfect Austrian city with Alpine appeal, Innsbruck blends lavish baroque palaces and designer boutiques with old-world taverns and glass-fronted bars. Glittering with crystals and shining slopes, it’s steeped in tradition but by no means traditional – as Bögen’s all-night parties confirm.
Venice is a unique experience for every traveller and certainly a must for lovers. Few people know that Venice is actually an island-city with a train bridge connecting it to mainland Italy. This romantic city actually has no roads at all! To move around there are 150 canals and over 400 bridges! Venice has also beautiful churches, squares and museums. The southern part of the Venice has a certain village feel. Perfect to wander around in the little alleys, get lost and finally reach the Santa Margherita square. Ideal place for its lively bars!

Beautiful trip in a comfortable train
Great train trip, wonderful views
I don't understand the point of paying for first class. Despite being advertised, there was no free wifi, no drinks or snacks included, and there were 6 people crammed into a small booth. Yet other booths had barely any people. A small bottle of water was €2.80. The staff in the restaurant were incredibly rude. I don't actually understand what paying for first class got me...
very comfortable first class Cabin. clean and food and drinks available. Wi Fi was missing.
We chose rail as it represented the most convenient and cost effective way to travel from Innsbruck to Venice with the luggage that we needed for a 12 day cruise. Once seated, the trip was pleasant and uneventful. Finding the right carriage and loading luggage which include 2 large suitcases had to be left in the passage outside the cabin. We found that our reserved seats had been occupied by some members of a large family group who claimed that they were told that they could sit anywhere but once it was made clear that we had reserved seats they moved, but left their luggage in the overhead racks.
1st class ? A little different to what I expected. Cramped and uncomfortable for a 5 hour journey 6 adults 1 dog and 6 suitcases do not fit in one compartment
Booked this trip via Australian Office. Everything was fine. Seat Reservations and comfortable train. Very Scenic trip
Ticketing was good and no problems with the tickets issued by Raileurope in Australia being accepted. Train was good and ran on time. Our ticket had seat reservations and I would recommend always reserving your seat as many people were left standing and people without reservations had to keep changing seats at different stations. One thing to remember on all transport is to validate your tickets (stamp the ticket at the station when boarding) even when seats are reserved or issued in Australia. If buying rail passes make sure they are accepted in all countries as one unlucky family on our train were kicked off a remote station in Hungry as their pass was not accepted in Hungry.
