Milan, the second largest city in Italy
Milan is a main Italian city and regarded as the fashion capital of Europe. Milan is also an transport hub for Italy. The city has an important stake in the finance, commerce, media and sport of Italy. Two of its football teams, Inter Milan and Milan AC, are known throughout the world. Milan is located in the north west of Italy and is home to a number of museums, designers factory shops, churches and other landmarks. Those who love street style would love the Navigli area. In Piazza XXIV Maggio, shoppers will find brands such Custo-Barcellona, Diesel, Miss Sixteen, Gas and Fornarina, alongside second-hand clothes shops, handmade clothes and accessory stores made from silk and other precious materials.
The main railway stations of Milan are Milan Centrale and Milan Porta Garibaldi. The two stations are about 1.5 kilometres away from each other.
Turin, an unforgettable experience
Wide streets and 17th-century buildings are surrounded by snow-capped mountains in Turin, dubbed the Capital of the Alps. This wealthy Italian city is a centre for industry, fashion and the arts, with a football-mad population who split their rabid loyalty between giants Juventus and Torino.
Reviews & ratings Milan - Turin
The train journey was quite good. We traveled economy (2nd Class) and found the compartment very cramped. There was inadequate space for luggage, but we managed to keep our suitcases behind some seats.
The Frecciarossa trains are wonderful - fast, efficient and clean with better than average train toilets. Booking ahead for a good deal is a must as some people had paid more than twice what I had for the same journey.
It was very convenient being able to tuck my bag away between seats facing back to back, and it was across the corridor from my seat so I could see it. Information about which platform train would leave from had to wait till the train pulled in, but did come up promptly allowing sufficient time to find my carriage. Seat was comfortable.
Fast, easy and reasonably priced trip between Milano and Torino
Another terrific experience on Trenitalia - train on time, quick trip, highly recommend
My self and travelling companion are two ladies 68 years of age. We were disgusted at the lack of help provided by any rail staff even when asked politely in Italian. Getting 2 suitcases on and off the Italian trains is hard work.
Good trip, excellent train. Would recommend doing this trip during the day to see the countryside.
Travelling from Torino PS to Milano Centrale was very much better than the TGV from France. The coaches were classy and comfortable. The windows were unobstructed so we could view the changing countryside. Rail staff helped us on and off with our luggage. We were travelling first class and were offered drinks and nuts which was much more than the TGV offered! I would like to have known there was a dining car on the train, we would have used it!
