Reviews & ratings Milan - Venice
Comfortable, fast and relaxing. No complaints at all.
No problems at all....would recommend RailEurope always.
Getting on the coach was difficult with suit cases due to pushy passengers only thinking of themselves. But train and staff were excellent
your train service is above any compared to what we have in Australia. If only Australia could give us a train service like yours a lot more people would use it
Recommend this journey. Travelled in primo and service and seating were very good
being from Australia , we are not used to train travel, having travelled from Rome to Milan , and Milan to Venice was excellent, we booked it on the internet and we dint have to convert it to tickets at the station, the trains are fast and clean and on time I will thoroughly recommend to friends
On a recent journey from Rome to Naples, my friend and I were travelling first class. When the train arrived to a stop on the platform, 4 young males and one female approached us and wanted to "help with our bags". This group of individuals were quite persistent and became aggressive when we said we did not need help. They tried to take our bags and act as though they were trying to put them onto the train. When we finally got onto the train, the young girl climbed in and started hassling other passengers, this time an older couple. We all finally managed to remove the individuals from train before finding our seats. I am not sure what the gang of individuals were after, presumably to act as though they are "helping us with our bags" and then to ask for money or to steal bags as we were stuck on the train. I felt as though there was no security presence at roma termini. All of this was occuring in broad daylight. It was certainly a scary experience, I can't imagine how confronting it must have been for the older couple. I have travelled on many trains in Italy and in europe and I feel this was a first. Many other countries have a security check prior to entering the platform, I feel this, if implemented in Rome would prevent such opportunists from entering trains. I feel access to platforms should be checked and restricted to those with a valid ticket. As a tourist, this experience detracted from my appreciation of an otherwise fantastic train service.
Venice, its beauty, the opera, the gondolas and the water taxi, all fabulous! But, our plans to get to Milan were almost derailed because we did not realise there were two Venetian stations. The staff were very helpful and we hastened to catch a train to the 'other' station, not accessible by water!! We made the connection and enjoyed free food and bubbly in first class comfort. The train sped with confidence to its destination and we felt safe and secure. Milano Centrale is just that, very central and Milan remains for us a favourite European city. The train trip can make all the difference!!!
It was our first trip to Italy where we used Italian trains. We found the train travel very enjoyable.. All trains ran on time, they were clean and very comfortable. I would definitely use them again.
Luggage stowage at ground level would be better than overhead. We are over 60s travelling by the train at end of 6 week trip. Getting suitcases up on racks not easy and areas behind seats already filled.
Ist class very good value, a bit of extra room, and some extra service and attention from friendly staff. Transfer and onward trip to Verona was very easy.
Nice trip should travel with less baggage
Once we found the new station at Bologna (station 18) in the new building and at level -5, all was OK, the train was very nice and comfortable, very fast trip to Florence, no stress, very pleased with the results.
Love the trains in Europe. Convenient, fast and you can even get a decent coffee.
A quick and comfortable trip. Luggage was easy to stow on embarking. Booking was simple, efficient and good value.
