Reviews & ratings Montpellier - Lyon
Service on time lots of room and just so easy love European train travel.
Seating very comfortable. Trip enjoyable. views great. Toilets very dirty. Did not see any one around to clean them. Traveling in first class I had hoped for some service but there was none. Traveling alone it is difficult to have to carry around your luggage in order to buy some food or get a drink 2 coaches further down. Did not like traveling backwards as the seats where placed that way
Excellent TGV as always.
After the appalling trains in Italy this service was a delight. None of the 4 of us have used the TGV service before and we were extremely satisfied. The seating, no graffiti, cleanliness, tables ....everything was great....we will do this again as the experience has made us think we will do this more than just flying or driving ..... Never done 300 kph on a train before ......
Very good service in general. Advice: Many of your customers will be intelligent, but from overseas and unfamiliar with the system. Why not have info boards at the entrance to explain 1 that platforms are not allocated until 15 min before departure, (a cause of anxiety and very unusual!) 2. cars are numbered and how to identify them, 3. which way to go for each platform 4 a map of the platforms 5 availability of food and drink on trains 6 whether you need to get your ticket stamped before you get on or who is going to check it. 7 that there are different systems for different ticket and who needs to use the check in terminals and who doesn't, etc. It makes it look like you don't care about your visitors.
We took six train trips in September 2013, a mixture of first and second class tickets. The train journeys were very enjoyable. It was far less stressful than driving while following GPS directions and watching for road signs in French. The only negatives were the last minute posting of the platform number for the train and the confusing order of the carriages. Sometimes the carriage number signs on the carriages did not match the signs on the platform display. Both these contribute to a free-for-all rush carrying luggage up and down stairs.
I was impressed at the comfort and ease at using the train across France.
I really enjoyed the trip! Such an amazing place.
We were unable to travel on the train as we had bicycles and were not advised how to travel with them. One train would accept them but the connection would not.
