Reviews & ratings Munich - Paris
Travelling by rail is better than by plane. The cabin was comfortable and we had our own sink and beds, however the booking process from Australia was terrible.
We travelled on the over night train the conductor was very helpful helped us on with our case's and served breakfast next morning with a smile. We had a room with bunk beds (the room was a little small) but had a wash basin where we could freshen up.
This was great as we had our compartment to ourselves. The problem is other passengers drift into the area and leave their bags and suitcases in the aisles which is difficult to get around when you have to alight.
Because we had to change trains to continue our journey we also had to change stations. We had used the Paris underground previously so this wasn't a problem, but do your homework if it is your first trip. It's not difficult but can be stressful if you don't know your way around. After a 7 hour journey, the train was 4 minutes late into Munich and an apology was given over the PA system. If only Australian trains could run so smoothly. Train travel in Europe is a great option.
I would recommend this mode of transport from Paris to Munich. Excellent trains, reliable clean and fast. As the train station is near the centre of the city transport to hotels is quick and easy.
Had an excellent, comfortable trip from Paris to Munich. There was ample space for luggage, and a powerpoint to charge my phone/laptop. Food was served at my seat, and the meal was included in the price of the ticket - very convenient!
Train trip was good once we had recovered from making the connection and nearly having a heart attack!
TGV is the train that I heard long time ago, I now have experienced it, it is truly good!
The trip was great, on time, quiet and comfortable. It was thoroughly enjoyable - although the toilets, as always on trains, were typically smelly. I love travelling by train in Europe and would choose it over flying. (From Australia)
The print at home ticket facility made it a simple matter to cancel and rebook a different route when I found out at the last minute our itinerary had to change. The refund was handled efficiently by Rail Europe and I commend them for their great customer service. The trip Paris to Munich on an upper deck coach of the TGV gave us an excellent view of the countryside. The seats were comfortable, the train was very quiet and smooth at speeds up to 315kph and best of all, no airport type queues for security, customs or baggage. We arrived 15 minutes before departure and disembarked exactly on time. We found it very good value for money and a travel experience which was much more than just getting from A to B.
