Reviews & ratings Paris - Grenoble
As a foreigner and first time TGV passenger, it was hard for me to find the correct coach. Better coach signage or help on the platform would be appreciated.
Had to rush to get on board this train - only 5 minutes to get from one station platform to the connecting train platform but journey itself was problem free
Australians in France to holiday and see our son living in Grenoble, The TGV trip to Grenoble was excellent and we were impressed by the French hospitality acroos France (Paris,Grenoble,Montpellier,Nimes, Caen, Paris)
Trains in France are always clean and comfortable. Good instructions for ticket selection make it relatively easy. Pleasant quiet journey.
We had booked the first class tickets as we were lead to believe there were chargers on the train however there were not any. To us there was no difference between first and second class.
The train and facilities were excellent. We had a very relaxed and enjoyable ride. Printing the tickets at the station was very easy as well.
Having arived at Paris CDG airport and finding the TGV I found trying to find the apropreat carrage to get on very difficult. It is a long train and I had a 1st class ticket. the train had no obvious sinage as to which carrage and where luggage should go. With a large bike bag and short time frames it was very frustrating. I almost missed the train and had to throw the bag on board and hope for the best.
My wife and I recently travelled to Grenoble on the TGV for the first time as overseas visitors. We were very impressed with the overall experience. Once the Gare Paris Lyon is located and understood, everything pretty much falls into place. Plenty of room for luggage, friendly staff and decent seating arrangements are very welcoming. The bar carriage was very reasonable and well stocked. The train even arrived at it's destination dead on time. A very good way to get around the country on a budget and in quick time.
