Reviews & ratings Paris - Milan
Very comfortable trip which provided great views all the way up to and over the alps.
Convenient travel between France and Italy and a great way to see a bit of the countryside. Train was clean, fast and efficient.
This was great as we had our compartment to ourselves. The problem is other passengers drift into the area and leave their bags and suitcases in the aisles which is difficult to get around when you have to alight.
This trip was very disappointing. No compartments for families. No booths for families. Kids either sat ahead of or behind the parents rather than directly opposite another, which is what most families prefer. Then the train broke down and we had to swap trains, without any staff assistance and transfer all the luggage thru snow across the tracks and reload. Talking point once we got into paris
This train trip was an interesting experience. Riding through the Alps was lovely. The fare was fabulous: 40 Euros for each person. But, we stopped many times and I really didn't think I was riding on a "fast" train! By the end of journey, the bathroom floor in our carriage was a swamp of urine. Needless to say, this was not pleasant.
We paid the bit extra for 1st Class. It was comfortable and we had plenty of legroom, but I was a little surprised that we had to pay extra for lunch. Cafe prices for "plane-style" food and instant coffee.
Loved this train trip. The scenery was amazing and the driver explaining things to look out for was greatly appreciated. The seats were very comfortable and the entire train was extremely clean and clearly looked after well.
Booking the trip was fast and easy. Everything worked well and we got a very good price. The train itself was fast, on time and comfortable. We have no criticisms of the process or the journey.
Comfortable, beautiful trip. Only comment I would make is to suggest people take their own water and some food - the prices were high if you relied on the food on board.
Great views of fresh snow on the Alps as we "flew" along at 200 kmph. The trip was comfortable enough but the food was rubbish and very expensive. Make sure you stock up on takeaway before the train leaves. We enjoyed the trip and would recommend it to others. The train was 1/2 an hour late leaving and 45 min late arriving in Paris. Italian trains are often late. The booking price varies from week to week so start checking prices 3 months ahead and jump in when they advertise a really good price.
We found the booking process easy, the staff informative and the trip comfortable. The snacks on board were quite expensive but we expected this. A pity we had to change trains in the middle of the journey and were delayed an hour, but this was handled very efficiently. This inconvenienced some other passengers who had connections to make. We look forward to our next trip.
We are an elderly couple who have never travelled by train in Europe, so our first thought was something is bound to go wrong. I booked the train online followed all your instructions and everything went smoothly. We were amazed at the size of some of the Railway Stations so always gave ourselves plenty of time to find and reach the designated platform.
Another comfortable on time journey via TGV. I needed to get from Milan to Avignon in afternoon/evening and flight to Paris CDG and TGV to Avignon fitted the bill. I had to kill a couple of hours at CDG but waiting area was OK. Taxis were waiting at Avignon TGV to whisk me to hotel on city walls (approx 13 euros).
Found the whole experience very easy and enjoyable.. Great value for money.
My only criticism is that the platform number is not displayed sooner so that you don't have to rush to the platform with everyone else at the same time and sort out where you need to be according to your coach number on the platform. Other than that the journey itself was faultless and comfortable and delivered us centrally where we needed to be.
