Reviews & ratings Saint-Malo - Paris
The trip was fantastic, connections on time. The only problem was validating the ticket. If rail europe was to explain the mechanism in a little more detail. Compostage ici to a poor reader of French means to Re-cycle here. Anything except validate. Merci pour La Grandmere bon who assisted me. Otherwise the service was excellent, yours James A. Duffy
The trip was only a couple of hours. Safe, comfortable, clean and on time. Great value for money. Beats driving hands down.
We had to make two separate bookings (A to B then B to C) to get to our destination to receive a cheaper price than booking A-C. The way prices change so much depending on when they are booked is also frustration just like the airlines).
We needed to meet family in Jersey and decided to try RE. The train was both very clean and comfortable and more importantly on time!!!
The TGV train was on time and it was a smooth journey. However, the air conditioning in our carriage was almost non existent. It was a day of over 30 degree temperatures with the sun beating against our seats. When I went to the bar carriage to get some cold drinks, the other carriages were cool and comfortable. Furthermore we could not pull down the blind as it was non existant...it had obviously broken and had not been replaced.Considering we paid for a first class journey, the comfort of the trip was worse than third class. The ticket inspectors were nowhere to be seen and finally, one hour before our arrival into Paris they came to check tickets and were asked by a number of passengers to turn on the airconditioning.Their only solution was to tell me to move into the next carriage where it was much cooler. They didn't even offer us a cool beverage to make up for the fact that the blind wasn't there or the air con was not working properly. We had travelled on TGV trains before but never in Summer. They need to check that all is in place and not allocate seats where blinds are broken.
as we where on a family holiday from Australia we had a large amount of luggage if it was not for one of the staff and a few other travellers we would have struggled it seemed very rushed when the train got to Lyon and as we had 2 children under 5 it was very difficult. I would still recommend the train as it was very convenient.
Excellent and comfortable trip from St Malo to Paris. As a solo female traveler I value convenience, safety and comfort, all of which were available on this train. I chose to pay the slightly extra for 1st class, which was lovely, but probably not necessary - 2nd class would have been fine. The rail staff were helpful and the train ran on time. I would use it again.
