Travel inspiration in Stockholm and Copenhagen
Stockholm, the capital of Sweden
Reach Stockholm, the capital city of Sweden, by an early morning train from Copenhagen (5h15 trip). This stunningly beautiful city is built on 14 islands and is surrounded by hundreds of rocky islets. Its location on the shores of the Baltic Sea contributes to extreme seasonal variations, from frozen lakes in winter to peaceful evenings in summer.
Copenhagen, experience the danish way of life
Tivoli Gardens is the hub of Copenhagen’s cultural scene with live jazz and ornate mansions, but its fairground rides, including the terrifying Star Flyer, bring it firmly into the present. Drink in the sea air, tuck into fresh herring and browse the creations of classy modernist designers.
Reviews & ratings Stockholm - Copenhagen
The first trip from copenhagen to stockholm was good except we got on the train without reservations. Learnt from then on to make sure we had reservations on the main trips. No problems. Always on time. Very comfortable and always spoke in their language, finishing with English. Will be using the train system again soon.
Train was very comfortable. Unfortunately the train had a power failure and we were delayed quite a lot. This was obviously unplanned however more announcements in English would have helped. Before the delay there were plenty of English announcements and then once delayed there was no more English announcements. We needed to ask someone on the train what was going on.
Big improvement on the overnight service but the unfriendly stewards seem to be a regular feature of first class travel, free coffee and free wi -fi , but watch out for problems with new apple IOS, also delayed
The station for boarding was central to the city (although a current upgrade around the station was annoying). The train was fast and comfortable. The staff at the station (Stockholm) were helpful. The train provided a good view of the countryside on the way. It was a pity that it happened to be raining that day. Snacks were adequate. Train station in Copenhagen had lack of information for tourists.
