Reviews & ratings Strasbourg - Paris
We booked this trip first class - it was!
I was particularly impressed with the helpful staff at the train station who allowed me to change my train at the last minute. Thank you!!
Efficient comfortable travel. Sit back and relax as the picturesque country views roll by.
The ease of travel around France in clean quite rail cars is a pleasure, only made better by the helpful staff at the stations,we will always go rail first, so easy and practical Cheers, John
Very easy to use and very efficient. Very cost effective too. Only criticism I could make would be limited space for luggage near your seating on my carriage.
aLeft and arrived on time. Very comfortable and safe in e middle. Good job.
Train was spot on time and very comfortable. As hubby and I had prebooked reserved tickets even our seats were labeled with our names to ensure no other passengers were in our allocated seats. The only down side of train travel is the limited luggage space at the ends of each carrage.
Apart from the comfort and benefits of the train travel in itself, the taxi from our hotel to Gare de l'est to depart and taxi to the hotel on arrival in Nancy were both fast and inexpensive (compared to taxi to airports).
We enjoyed the "slower" train through the French countryside. We could see more and the "local" feeling of passengers getting on and off at regional stations added to the interest. Although slower than TGV we enjoyed the experience.
Very pleasant trip through the French countryside. Departure and arrival were on time. Boarding and departure procedures were excellent - particularly compared to air travel.
Very comfortable trip. Convenient to go to CDG as we were flying back to Australia the next day, staying overnight at the Novotel. My only complaint is that when you book on line and print out the PDF copy of your eticket the coach number gets jumbled up with the rest of the text and is very difficult to read. Apart from that Rail Europe is a very easy web site to navigate. Thank you.
Being able to connect to the TGV at the airport is a BIG plus. Unfortunately, although we had 1st class tickets the carriage was more 2nd class, very disappointing! It appeared to be an OLD TGV carriage. This was not the start to our 6 weeks of train travel we expected. ,
to travel by train is to relax and enjoy the countryside pass by Alas, with this trip (and the 5 others we booked through raileurope) we did not have the chance to choose the seating
On TGV and Eurostar, all 6-journeys over the last three weeks, the allocated seats had our backs to the direction of travel and provided practically no window area. Moving seats to a window area was possible only on two of the trips.
Rail Europe made our complicated train travel itinerary in Europe very easy.
