Reviews & ratings Nice - Geneva
After booking 1st class tickets, we were looking forward to our trip, which was such a disappointment. We had a 7 hour journey, whilst the seating was very nice, around 1pm went down to dining car only to find out there was no food, the train was then totally packed. So we travelled for 7 hours with no food, only a minute packet of crisps and a bottle of coke, what a joke. Fly instead.
We travelled first class on this trip so the seats were very comfortable and coach quiet (until little kids were left to run around). The train left approx 15 min late from Nice but got later and later as we continued the journey, until finally we arrived one and a half hours late! Various reasons were given for the delay, traffic seeming to be the most popular choice! Surely traffic is pre-booked on the tracks?? Buffet car was not well stocked, nor was the attendant friendly or helpful. Great scenery along the way though, so much better than flying. Just pleased we did not have a connecting train to catch!
