Reviews & ratings Avignon - Lyon
The booking system was easy and efficient and a small glitch with a payment system was resolved smoothly. The European train system is amazing. So efficient with staff carrying out duties professionaly and proudly. Comfortable, fast and timely. An absolute pleasure and wonderful experience. The best way to travel and enjoy the scenery at its best.
The train service was reasonably comfortable and efficient despite the slashed seats and grafitti.
The train service was comfortable and efficient.
five stars all round. an excellent experence
As for previous journey.
Recently spent a month travelling around France
great way of getting to your destination, the seats were very comfortable, carriage nice and quiet and the train was on time.
We took six train trips in September 2013, a mixture of first and second class tickets. The train journeys were very enjoyable. It was far less stressful than driving while following GPS directions and watching for road signs in French. The only negatives were the last minute posting of the platform number for the train and the confusing order of the carriages. Sometimes the carriage number signs on the carriages did not match the signs on the platform display. Both these contribute to a free-for-all rush carrying luggage up and down stairs.
We had the tickets, but I was concerned that I had to do more with them, get them stamped or something, but information told me I was good to just board and use them. With these trains, you just wait in the area near the platforms (voies) and wait until the boards show which one your train will board from. Then there is a mad rush as everyone heads down a platform and onto a train. If you're coach 12, that can be a long way down the platform. Good smooth travel, quiet and fast.
The trip was only a couple of hours. Safe, comfortable, clean and on time. Great value for money. Beats driving hands down.
Had difficulty finding station from which train departed due to confusing (to us) signage -no English language signs,.
We enjoyed the trip though we left a bit late due to some troubles elsewhere on the line. Apart from this train travel in France, and this trip in particular, was good. Our only complaint would be that there doesn't seem to be quite enough room for cases for people who have a case or two that they are travelling with.
we were really enjoy the trip!
We found the TGV service very good once we had located the area we need to validate our pass. Our next challenge was to take our luggage to the upstairs platform. None of that was too difficult although taxing due to lack of lift facilities that we could locate easily. We manage all of it but we very disappointed to find that we were upstairs and had to leave our luggage downstairs in the corridor. I realise that tickets are allocated automatically - however, I am sure that one should be able to choose where one wants to sit - downstairs for instance if with heavy luggage.
