We didn't end up travelling on the TGV as we eventually found out that all the trains were delayed due to a body being found on the tracks somewhere. We were eventually informed that we should catch another train and this we found to be excellent. Elevators were not clearly displayed or not in existance and thus we carried large and heavy luggage up
The trip in 1st class was very comfortable, however, we were disappointed in the lack of wifi and the poor choice of available food. It was also a long wait and a long walk through many carriages to get to it. It was also very difficult to find our next station in Montpellier when we had to change trains
We took six train trips in September 2013, a mixture of first and second class tickets. The train journeys were very enjoyable. It was far less stressful than driving while following GPS directions and watching for road signs in French. The only negatives were the last minute posting of the platform number for the train and the confusing order of the carriages. Sometimes the carriage number signs on the carriages did not match the signs on the platform display. Both these contribute to a free-for-all rush carrying luggage up and down stairs.
