Paris, the capital of France
This is it! You are nearing a visit to the one of the world’s greatest cities, Paris! The capital of France is also known as the City of Light. This enchanting city, at the crossroads of cultures, is the capital of fashion and home to world highlights such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and Avenue des Champs Elysées, to name but a few. In terms of architectural beauty, art history, events, gastronomy and sheer extravagance, Paris is a milestone ahead of any other city on earth.
Beyond the highlights of the city, Paris is the ideal place to discover the French art de vivre. Take a seat in a café and simply enjoy the scene in front of you: locals shopping fresh food from authentic markets, people taking their time for lunch which usually lasts more than an hour, women and men who are well groomed in a simple yet fashionable way… Simple things that make life much more enjoyable.
When it’s time to eat, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Indeed, Paris has a wealth of restaurants serving specialities from every corner of the world. And of course you don’t come to this amazing city without having a morning croissant, lunch in a neighbourhood bistro or dinner in a Michelin-starred restaurants if you wish to have a treat.
Paris has one of the world’s most extensive public transport systems. You can take a taxi if you are not much of an adventurer, but that would be a pity! Metro (subway or underground), buses and city bicycles are much more fun and are very easy to use, even for beginners. Go to any metro station and ask the RATP staff to help you out with the best ticket option. Don’t forget to ask for a free tourist map.
It takes more than a couple of days to discover Paris, but you can plan your visit according to our 3-day itinerary to see the best of the City of Light.
Reviews & ratings Dijon - Paris
I made a mistake in the booking and doubled up. I would like to commend you on the efficiency which you refunded the trip I cancelled. The trip to CGG from Dijon was very convenient and eliminated an unnecessary trip to Paris. Shame there was only one morning train.
A short connection train trip from Beaune to Dijon. Excellent train with spacious seats, on time and added bonus being that, for this particular section, we didn't have seat allocation and could have taken any time train going to Dijon that day.
Good to have ticket prepaid as saves time in queue when having to get tickets whilst travelling.
Have used this service on earlier trips and it lived up toexpectations this time as well. On time service was important as we had to make a connection in Part Dieu, this worked to perfection with minutes to spare.
The train was on time, very clean and comfortable. We were impressed.
Very comfortable train trip from Paris to Dijon in first class. Seating was spacious but no room for our suitcases. Others had the same problem We placed them in the pathway and corridor. There definitely isn't enough space allocated for suitcases. We did manage to place the smaller bags in the overhead racks. Enjoyed the countryside views on our 1.5 hour journey. Would definitely recommend the TGV train.
We enjoyed the train trip from Paris to Dijon. The service is very efficient and comfortable
Our experience of train travel in France was positive. We travelled in 1st class and found the seating very comfortable and clean. The train service is efficient
The train was on time and the trip was excellent.
This trip was fantastic and highly recommended, train was clean and comfortable...
Great service and comfort.spot on time on both journeys
We enjoyed our train travel immensely. Very comfortable seats, we could buy a coffee drink the journey, and it took such a short time.
The train trip was fast, comfortable, plenty of leg room, price was not an issue as we needed to do the trip anyway. The only issue was with cases - I had a rather large suitcase and there was no room in the luggage shelves for mine, so had to leave it in the entryway. No-one complained, so it obviously didn't block access for anyone else, and it was only once we were settled that I discovered there was extra storage at the end of the coach. Otherwise, the train trip was great - about time we had this service in Australia. 6 stars out of 5.
Easy trip, compfortable and effortless arrived in Dijon in no time at all
The TGV was very good but not up to the Italian trains. Price was excellent and it seems better to buy your tickets for any European train in Australia than at the time of travel. Your office gave great service.
