Reviews & ratings Milan - Florence
Great experience which made us think that train travel is the way to go. The Tuscany country side was tempting enough to experience a return future trip.Congratulations on comfort, cleanliness and efficiency.
this train trip was excellent - i highly recommend booking the 1st class tickets - comfort was a lot better than in standard carrages
We purchased a super saver ticket in business class and was not disappointed. This train was exceptionally comfortable, clean and very fast. Drink and snack was provided. We would definitely travel again on the trenitalia trains.
Getting on the coach was difficult with suit cases due to pushy passengers only thinking of themselves. But train and staff were excellent
On time clean and comfortable, a little more space for luggage would be useful.
It was our first trip to Italy where we used Italian trains. We found the train travel very enjoyable.. All trains ran on time, they were clean and very comfortable. I would definitely use them again.
Italian intercity trains, are basic to say the least, no buffet car, always have lunch/dinner/drink when traveling on these trains, as there is no where to buy any food the whole trip. First class was comfortable, with plenty leg room. Watch your luggage, as theft is possible on the Milano section with non official porters trying to take your bags onto the train, then demanding 30 euro to get them back, train staff very good in removing the gang from the train. otherwise train trip was good/
Once we found the new station at Bologna (station 18) in the new building and at level -5, all was OK, the train was very nice and comfortable, very fast trip to Florence, no stress, very pleased with the results.
A real surprise. Rail is a great alternative to air travel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The seats were really comfortable but I did not like seats that were face to face instead of being together. No option was given on seat selection. I hate travelling backwards. Other than this small issue it was a great experience.
This was a very pleasant Journey. Luggage is always a problem but with two couples it was relatively easy. We had no problems at Roma Termini locating the train and finding our seats. We were not bothered by people begging or offering help. We were dreading Termini but were pleasantly surprised.
I was lucky to get a cheap deal for business class. What a difference that made! the seats are plush, and comfortable. Regular refreshment and newspaper service coming through during the trip. I didn't need either, so I don't know if it was free or not. Train on time. The business class carriages are the closest to the barriers, so you don't have to walk the whole length of the platform to get on the train - important with heavy luggage. even in economy class the train is comfortable enough if a little no frills. Convenient to be able to book tickets online and then print them off. No hitches at all on the 4 train trips I have booked through Rail Europe in Italy
In August 2014 my wife and I went from Florence to Milan on a fast train. It was one of the best trips we have ever done. The train, the convenience and the service were outstanding!
The train coming into Milano Garibaldi was not convenient as we were staying next to Milano Centrale and were leaving from there the next day.
Travelling by train around Italy was easy and fast. We bought our tickets online and simply went to the train station and boarded the train. The trains were on time and a comfortable way to travel especially with bags. It's a great way to see a lot of the countryside without having to worry about traffic or concentrating on maps etc.
An easy and pleasant way to travel to the airport. The only problem I had was getting my luggage on the train as there was no one to help me.
