    Train. Budapest to Vienna |
"From the time I booked this trip (Which included emailing me when the booking opens) to the time I got off the train in Vienna, everything was perfect. Avoiding the long check in times at airports, I found the rail trip was a substantial time saver and convenient as one ended up relatively close to ones hotel. A perfect way to travel over the short distances in Europe. "

"The train was first class, modern and extremely clean. In addition to this there was a monitor in the carriage, which provided information on the arrival times of the various stations. The train left and arrived on time. Prague to Berlin The experience was poor to average. I had been asked if it was a German, or a Czech train (prior to the journey). It was a Czech train - and now I know why I was asked the above question. Information provided onboard was verbal and extremely difficult to understand. The station in Prague is magnificent. "

    floods |
"We had to change trains and be bussed around the flooded area to join the next train as part of the journey. Dragged our cases over tracks and onto hot buses. I accept this is not really the fault of the rail system which is generally excellent. "

"Great trip - easy to organise through Rail Europe, was a little shocked though that i couldn't print my tickets at home, as i was leaving Australia much sooner than the planned train journey, we were lucky the tickets arrived by post within a few days, before we flew to Europe. Train was great seats were allocated luckily, as some locals who didn't have seats allocated had to stand most of the way and wait for a seat to become vacant. All in all very easy to purchase and travel. Would definitely use Rail Europe again. "

"Luggage lockers were hard to find - better signage would improve that. The journey to Austria was great. Thank you. "

Train was good but not station |
"While the train was good, we were booked to leave from a station other then the main railway station. Lucky the train conductor let us get on at this station and we had to stand until we arrived at the correct destination on our ticket (as the people in our seats departed at this station) "

Vienna to Budapest by Train |
"The train was very comfortable and the service in first class was excellent. Potential travellers at Meilding station need to understand that there is very little at the station apart from a middle eastern takeaway and and a barren waiting room. I would have appreciated somewhere to buy a cup of coffee. There is little point in getting to the station early. "

    Budapest to Vienna |
"Firstly we travelled from Keleti rather than Kelenfoe as it is an inner city station and that's where we were staying. I would advise anyone who is already in the city to do this especially as there is no extra charge for doing it and it is much more central than Kelenfoe. As per our tickets our seats were reserved, easy to find and comfortable for the journey. We travelled 1st class as there was not much difference in price and were next to the restaurant car. The trip itself was very pleasant, leaving late morning and arriving mid afternoon. The only downside to the journey could have been if you had to get luggage on and off the train by yourself as the steps in and out are steep and quite narrow. The train staff however were helpful in this regard. "

    Boarding the train |
"Although the ticket is from Kelenfoe, you can board the train at Keleti station in Budapest , this is easier than getting to Kelenfoe. There is no extra charge and the coach on the thru train was only for passengers getting on at Budapest, Keleti/ Kelenfoe. A much easier way to board the train. John Rutherford, Perth "

    Easy and relaxing |
"The train trip itself was outstandingly quiet and comfortable and the service was excellent. As with almost all trains, the only negative issues are manhandling the suitcases onto and off the train. "

    Convenient Trip |
"OK trip. Quick no hassles. Luggage is always a problem on IC and ICE trains in Europe. Never enough room for everyone's luggage. "

  • Efficient |
"A comfortable trip. Everything was as it should be. The only thing missing was the ability to get a glass of water. Yes, it could be purchased as a bottle from the vendor, should be automatically available on board.. Could have been better informed as to where on the one Kilometer long platform it would stop. Title says it all. "

"Difficult to get a reservation on Vienna/Zurich leg and only when we arrived in Vienna understood why. Work on tracks and we had to get off train and travel an hour by coach to another station to pick up the train again. If that had been told us when we were trying to book seats we maybe would have chosen another route. On asking the guard/porter to help us off with our luggage his reply was "Do it yourself" in perfect English. Difficult when the trains so high off the platforms. Another problem was places to stow our luggage once we got onto the train. Not always room. Other than these points the actual travel was good. "
