Montenegro : ŽCG
The Railways of Montenegro (Željeznica Crne Gore, (ŽCG)) is the national railway company of the country.
The total network is 250km long and almost 58km, a third, of these lines are in 121 tunnels.
There’s one railway station in Montenegro in the capital Podgorica, which has connections with Serbia on the Bar – Podgorica – Belgrade line. There are connections with Albania but this is only a freight line, the ŽCG are in planning to extend this to passengers in the future. The Montenegro train schedule is thus relatively empty with passenger trains departing just four times daily.
After money problems with the railway and troubles on the track caused by derelict line, ŽCG are investing money again meaning railway improvements now allow the speed to get up to between 75–100km/h.
