A peaceful, easy feeling of a city

Oslo, enjoy the Norwegian fresh air!

Oslo is a breath of fresh air, offering culture and green spaces in equal measure. Opt for the clean, tree-lined streets of the centre with its eclectic galleries, bars and restaurants, or head to the Oslo Marka forest for fishing, skiing and hiking.

About Norway

The largest and most famous park in the capital of Norway, the "Vigelandspark", hides 200 amazingly realist sculptures that the artist Vigeland created all along his life.

A visit of the Munch Museum will help you understand the great work of the world-known Norwegian painter Edvard Munch. Let yourself be tempted by the Viking Museum and its extraordinary Viking boats and other Viking collections and textiles. Discover the "Holmenkollen", a place entirely dedicated to the history and the practice of skiing.

To taste most of the Norwegian specialties, order a "koldtbord", a copious buffet offering all the typical meals and try carefully the local flavoured spirit "aquavit".

Train station(s)

Trains are a convenient way of reaching many towns and cities throughout Europe. The majority of cities in Europe have a minimum of one train station, while larger, more populated cities have two or more stations. Train stations, in general, are located in the heart of the city. Review the map below to get an idea of where the train station(s) in Oslo can be found.

Flam railway I'd like to use my Eurail pass to travel from Oslo to Bergen in the one day, with a side trip from Myrdal to Flam return. Is this doable, or should I plan for an extra day?

"We travelled through Scandinavia and decided that we would try the train as an alternative to flying between Oslo and Stockholm. We're delighted we did , we walked to Oslo central from our hotel , had a comfortable , relaxed train ride to Stockholm where we met another traveller from Australia as well as a local Swede and had time to talk, relax and arrive rested into Stockholm central. We then walked to our hotel in Stockholm. Train - an awesome option if you are staying in city centres. "

    NOT WORTH FIRST CLASS | Henry t. | 2014/06/15
"Recently travelled Oslo - Stockholm and decided to go First Class - what a waste of money. The seats were wider and slightly more leg room than Second Class - but thats all. No food or drink or anything else was included in the fare. The train was at best average in terms of amenities and cleanliness - apart from the toil;ets which were an absolute disgrace. The train I was on probably had it's hey day in the 60's - but was well past it's prime. "

    Copenhagen to Stockholm | Louise m. | 2013/11/08
"Train was very comfortable. Unfortunately the train had a power failure and we were delayed quite a lot. This was obviously unplanned however more announcements in English would have helped. Before the delay there were plenty of English announcements and then once delayed there was no more English announcements. We needed to ask someone on the train what was going on. "

"I'd like to make a correction re the date of our train journey for three travellers. It was 14/07/2013. We found it very comfortable, good value and convenient to the Hotel. However, we did check things out the day before to ensue a smooth exit from Stockholm. Thanking you, Lily Larsen "
