Overview

Board on Train to Benelux!

Benelux is the name given to designate three neighbouring countries of western Europe. The three countries are the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. Each of the three countries has its own respective railway lines and national railway operator. The national Belgian Railway Company is known as NMBS/SNCB. In Luxembourg the national railway company is the Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois (CFL), whereas Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) is the main railway company of the Netherlands.

Cityscape

Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg are waiting for you! Taste a good beer sit on Brussel’s Grand Place square and admire the architecture. Have a wander around Amsterdam canals and test the well-known coffee shops. Don’t miss the deep gorge of Luxembourg. Enjoy your trip to Benelux going by train in any places you want.

Landscape

Windmills and tulip fields of Holland, Flanders’ battlefields or Ardennes’ mountains and forest is a little sample of what you can see in Benelux, travelling by train. Fascinating Red Rocks of Luxembourg’s landscapes, Belgium’s beaches where you can go surfing, and fields and lakes of Netherland are waiting for you!

Take Home

From Netherlands, you have to buy some Gouda or Edam cheeses which are very typical from there, while Luxembourg’s offers you excellent wines of the Moselle Valley. In Belgium, find the best chocolate factories in the world and try not to eat everything before coming back home, and don’t forget the waffles and beers!

Eat & Drink

Enjoy your trip to Benelux tasting the Bouneschlupp (soup) or the Ardennes’ ham in Luxembourg. In Amsterdam, try the raw herring or eel sandwiches. The world-known Dutch pancake is delightful as well.

New Perspective

Luxembourg’s Ardennes’ mountain, vineyards, hidden forests, typical and lovely little villages, vast open fields, you will be surprised of the variety of landscapes you can admire while you are travelling in Benelux by train.

"The train departed on time and arrived on time. The conductor was polite and multilingual. The only issue was that someone was sitting in my allocated seat but that did not bother me as there were other seats available that had the same comfort level. "

"Would thoroughly recommend travelling by train from Paris to London. Train was easy to access, comfortable and affordable. The weather conditions delayed departure time however that was unavoidable. First class carriage was very comfortable and the breakfast served was an unexpected delight. Will certainly repeat this experience in the future. "

"Excellent service although all the tickets booked through Raileurope we received the worst seats available. Either no windows (the panel seats) and/or facing backwards. W booked early and though we would get better seats. Rest of service was excellent. "
